Hair Colouring Demonstration
Cold wave and colour tinting techniques were demonstrated to local hairdressers by representatives from Marigny N.Z.. Ltd. at a function at Pately House recently. The programme included films, lectures, and a practical demonstration followed by a parade, by local models, of sample colourings.
Marigny, who are New Zealand representatives for L'Oreal of Paris, staged the demonstration with the aim of educating the hairdressers on tastefully tinting the original colour of a client's hair.
The models pictured after the parade. Standing: Mrs Carol Coleman (demonstrator), Mrs Davey, Mrs Tidy, Mrs Bell, Miss Bartie, and Miss Whittington. Sitting: Mrs Cox, Mrs Crawshaw, Mrs Hansen, Miss Close, Mrs Fairley, Mrs Binnie, and Mrs Milligan.
Those responsible for the demonstration were from left, Mr E. Barford (salesman), Mrs C. Coleman (demonstrator), Mr Mahaffy (N.Z. general manager), and Mr T. Lyle.
The following photos show the five stages of the cold wave colouring technique being demonstrated by Mrs Coleman on blonde model, Jill Bartie. The colour, in this case apricot, is combed into the hair
which is then set in rollers
and dried.
