Final Match

The last match at Rugby Park for the 1960 season, played on a sultry Saturday last month, saw the visiting Harlequins defeat the local Olympians 12 to 8. The game was a memorial fixture to honour the memory of the former All Black trials and Poverty Bay forward, "Vestey" Thomas, who died in Hamilton earlier this year.
