GALA

In the early years the Makauri area was dairy based. The Makauri Galas always reflected the produce of the parents who supported the school. Over the years this has now changed to being a largely horticultural area. The Produce Stall is well known throughout the Gisborne District for having great products, great value. With this in mind most people arrive early to take advantage of the best on offer. This year the 1st TwiIight Gala was held with it resulting in being the best gala in Makauri School's 110 year history. The Gala had 100% backing of the parents of the school children. The area really has a shining community spirit
