The BIG BLOW

For the month of November Gisborne was plagued with galeforce equinox winds causing plenty of headaches for Eastland Energy, the fire brigade and the district. Many in rural areas were without power and access for several days and planting on the flats came to a standstill. The golf courses were particularly badly hit as the photo shows (right) Gavin Cornish, Spud Murphy & Joe Green cleaning up at Poverty Bay.
