NZ MAORI HOCKEY
TOURNAMENT
The Smokfree National Maori Hockey Tournament was held at the Rectory Field in Gisborne. Teams that competed were: Men Taitokerau, Tamaki Makaurau, Aotea, Waiakiri, Takitimu, Te Waipounamu & Tairawhiti. Women: Takitimu, Aotea, Waiakiri & Tairawhiti. An action packed women's final saw Waiakiri defeat Takitimu 3 - 1 while Takitimu won the Men's section having adapted their game to playing on grass. Two Tournament Teams were selected but those selected are not necessarily to play in N Z Representative Teams.
