19½ Thousand

The fantastic total of $19,628.80 was raised during the four weeks of the War Memorial Theatre Queen Carnival. The committee and supporters of the Arts Queen (Robyn Ellis), City Queen (Yetty Louie), and the winning Country Queen (Fern Fraser, who raised $7127) did a marvellous job to raise such an amount in just four weeks. The result was announced at a Queen Carnival Cabaret and Crowning Ceremony on August 3.
