Four members of the Old Folks' Association celebrated their birthdays at the monthly social for August. A jolly afternoon was had by all and the members cutting the cake are, from left, Mr R. Trethewey, Mrs D. Wells, Mr C. Davis and Mrs C. Dudley.

The two senior citizens who participated in this year's holiday exchange scheme, operated and sponsored by Gisborne West Rotary, are Mrs E. Paine (left), of Willow Street, and Mrs E. Priestley, of Valley Road. The two ladies are being farewelled on their trip to Rotorua by Rotarian Peter Hyams.

Sales of Health Stamps on Saturday, August 5, increased by $147 on last year's total. The house-to-house collection raised a total of $1392 and was undertaken by this large group of young people who are seen ready to leave the Post Office, on their rounds. Seeing them on their way is Mayor Harry Barker.
