The Spirit Of Christmas
The spirit of Christmas was truly in evidence at the Ngawari Anglican Sunday School's end-of-year function. The first half of the programme consisted of individual items and, in the second half, a Christmas play was performed to a selection of carols.

Other organisations also held pre-Christmas functions for the young ones.
The Kaiti Play-eentre was visited by Father Christmas at their festive party.
At the function are pictured Mesdames L. Boyce (wife of the E.C.P.B. Playcentre Association president), and Nicola, S. Windle (president), K. Carter (retiring supervisor), C. Brown (secretary), I. Charles (new supervisor) and E. Ahuriri (treasurer).
A wonderful afternoon party was held for the I.H.C. group at the hostel in Albert Street, and they are seen here with Father Christmas and the Christmas tree.

A large crowd of children from the Health Camp, and their friends, were present for the camp's annual Christmas party. Father Christmas arrived in a novel sleigh constructed out of a big lawn mower. It was the reindeers' day off. Father Christmas is almost swamped by the children at the party.
Youngsters attending the Waikirikiri Playcentre Group were also treated to a feast of goodies one morning before Christmas. From left, at back, are Mesdames Rachel Tamatea, Carol Outen and Tania, Lorraine Houkamau and Rawinia, Hoko Taylor, Kath Poi and Jane, Margaret Hutchinson and Susan Taiapa. Seated in front of them are Carl Outen, Maria Taiapa, Craig Hutchinson, Boyce Poi, Jim Tamatea, Tania Houkamau and Eugene Taylor. On this side of the table are Brett Taiapa, Margaret Tamatea, Lara Atkins, Gary Houkamau and Billy Poi.
