More Than 700!

Mrs Valaire August, 4 Ann Street, is a most avid collector. And she collects bottles. She started when she was seven years old with a glass bottle in the shape of a cat. This was given to her by her grandmother and the collection now numbers more than 700, many of which have come from other parts of the world.

Mrs August with an Eiffel Tower bottle which is over 40 years old, and a very ancient blue castor oil bottle.

Some of the hand-made bottles in the collection include ginger beer, Dunedin milk, vinegar and sealed marble bottles.

This bottle contains a mountain landscape in coloured sands.
