Here and There

A parade of forthcoming styles in hosiery was held for retailers and sales assistants by Lanes in the Albion Hotel recently. Big news is the textured stocking which is now being manufactured in New Zealand.

From Bruce Clare we have this picture taken at Owhena Station, Tokomaru Bay, after the heavy snow storm in July. Snow thickly covered the hills and all of the area around the homestead. Even the ducks could not find their pond!

Speaking- of snow, what could be more appropriate to follow than snowdrops? These are something a bit special though. They are the genuine English snowdrop, or Galanthus, which actually push up through the snow. These flowers are growing in the garden of Mr T. R. Andrew, 80 Oak Street.

The upper stocking is "Honey", which is also the colour, is in textured lace with rib, while the lower model is "Beeca" in a brown shade with a raised textured pattern.
