New Bowling Green

Following the wide-spread practice. of other clubs throughout New Zealand the Poverty Bay Bowling Club has replaced the turf on one of their greens with cotula, a South Island flat growing plant. The adrvantage of the plant is that it stays green during the summer when the water supply is at a minimum. It also gives an extra smooth playing surface, and what's morels even playable after rain.

Planted almost a year ago the green is well established, and after the final top dressing should be ready to play on before the end of the season.
