Our Cover

Jacque, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ian Johnstone, 40 de Lautour Road, graces our cover this month. A hair-dresser with her own business in the new Kaiti Mall, Jacque's other interests include horse-riding, the beach and swimming.

Back Cover

These are two shots of interest in conjunction with the opening of the new wharf. Above is the Knight Templar, the first overseas cargo vessel to use the new wharf, and below, from Harbour Board deputy chairman Merv Howe, this picture through the rigging of the Port Adelaide as she makes her way up to the new wharf.

Landmark Gone

A prominent landmark, the 60ft steel chimney at the brewery in Aberdeen Road, has been removed. No longer needed, the chimney was taken down to eliminate the obstructions on the property caused by the guy ropes.

At left the chimney as it rose above the factory before being dismantled, and, at right, as it is lowered by crane from the building.
