Successful Gisborne Motorcyclists

Gisborne motorcyclists Max Barrington (left) and Ray Breingan have ridden with considerable success at several major New Zealand race meetings during the past few months.

Barrington started his season well by claiming the North Island 500 Beach Championship at Whangarei. More recently, riding his 500 Twin Norton, he gained a second, two thirds, and a fourth placing at Tauranga, and an overall position of fifth in the New Zealand Senior T.T. Championship at Pukekohe. For the second year in succession he was awarded the trophy for the first clubman machine home.

Breingan, riding his 350cc Manx Norton, filled several minor placings at Tauranga, and was placed fourth at Pukekohe.
