Busy Week For Top Sportsmen
The five leading New Zealand sportsmen, Peter Snell, Don Clarke, Len Hodge, Bert Sutcliffe, and Arthur Lydiard, who visited Giaborne last month, had a busy time fulfilling the many appointments made for them during their stay.
Sponsored by Rothman's (N.Z.) Ltd., the men attended training sessions, visited the hospital and health camp, lectured and coached at schools, and spoke at various private functions.
Wherever they went, the sportsmen proved to be entertaining and interesting company, modest of their mighty achievements, and unaffected by the ever-present air of admiration which surrounded them.
